Seahorse Point is 100% off-grid; this page describes the systems that we use to achieve this task.
Potable Water
All of the water used in Seahorsepoint is collected from the roofs of the buildings. We can choose to use the water to fill the storage tanks or direct it to safe discharge. Raw water is also collected for irrigation applications.
All water to be distributed in the hotels and other facilities is filtered by a Pentair ultrafiltration system. 100% of the water is filtered down to 0.0-3 microns; this means that the water is biologically safe, and most viruses are removed along with 100% of bacteria and parasites. Water used for human consumption is also filtered by reverse osmosis to remove any residual organic chemicals and heavy metals that will be present in the rainwater and picked up from surfaces in contact with the water.
There are 2 x ultra filtration systems and 4 reverse osmosis systems.
